The UCLA Childhood OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is currently looking for research assistants for the summer. Incumbents can receive Psych 196 research credit as a research assistant.
Research Project Description
We are an outpatient clinical research program at NPI that specializes in the study and treatment of anxiety and related disorders in children and adolescents up to the age of 18. Our primary goal is to provide effective treatments for youngsters suffering from anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourettes and other tic disorders, and Selective Mutism. Currently our program has several NIMH funded multi-site research studies.
Student Responsibilities
Students will have the opportunity work on treatment studies for children/adolescents diagnosed with various anxiety disorders. Student’s primary responsibilities include scoring clinical measures, data entry and management, as well as some administrative/clerical tasks. As students gain experience, more clinical interactions with children may become available. Great opportunity for those interested in gaining research experience for graduate school as well as those interested in learning more about treatment focused research.
